Fear of getting old? Or something greater?

Now that I am in my mid-thirties and pushing 40, I notice many of my high school friends that I reconnected with through the amazing power of Facebook comment on how they are getting old. Some are just joking but some actually do have a fear of old age. My dad always taught me that you are only as old as you feel and that life is only as hard as you make it. Life is only hard when we make decisions that are out of step with the will of God which is laid out in scripture; of course any devotional or inspirational that focused on Yeshua as the Messiah and if anointed by the Holy Spirit can be divine inspiration.

When you live right, i.e. focus on God, life seems easier because we are supernaturally regenerated. The healthcare system may think we are “manic” and try to medicate it. I believe one hippie biker Jesus-freak referred to that as the “Jesus High”. Also, our bodies seem to supernaturally balance itself out and even the medical professionals in the Orient say that sickness only happens when our bodies are out of balance. I could recommend a book by Dr. Wayne Dyer called “Being in Balance.” I don’t know what Dr. Dyer believes about Jesus but I notice he is the most charismatic new age teacher and he quotes the New Testament and Jesus Christ a lot. I also notice how amazed I am when I hear someone who looks like they should be in college tell me that they are approaching senior citizenship as fast as they can.

This goes with a story of someone that was close to me seeing a strand of gray hair and insisting that it was blond. I am not colorblind, I have my own gray strands on the sides (they are just overshadowed by the dumbo ears). Anyway, sometimes I have to wonder if the fear of gray hair, fear of getting old, or whatever you call it is related to something much deeper that the Bible talks about.

It’s called the fear of death. No true believer in the Living God and His Messiah will fear death because the presence of the Holy Spirit in their life will assure them of righteousness and peace. It will also give them joy which in God-terminology is true happiness and transcends one’s circumstances. The real assurance that you are a child of God is that you are led by the Holy Spirit. Many evangelists say you can have assurance and peace if you believe (or trust) in Jesus, say the sinner’s prayer, and walk down an aisle to get baptized.

You can do all those above things and not have a genuine assurance of your salvation if you are not led by the Holy Spirit! The Bible, or Jesus the real Word of God, teaches that many will be deceived. Many will come to Him when He returns expecting Him to let them into heaven because they think they knew Him; only to have Him tell them to depart from them workers of iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-scariest verse in the Bible).

Do you fear getting old? If you don’t know the Father and the Son and experienced the supernatural filling of the Holy Spirit then you will likely have the crap scared out of you when you read the book of Revelation. In which case you will probably need an immodium at the first sign of gray hair.

Progress Not Perfection

A counselor once told me a story about a man who found God through Jesus Christ. Before this man’s conversion he was enslaved to the buying of prostitutes. After his salvation he still gave in to the urge to purchase women for hire, or ladies of the evening if you will. People in the church kept telling  him he needed to get right with the Lord. What most people failed to notice is that after he gave his life to his Creator he did it less and less every year. The Moral to the story: Just because someone appears to be “living in sin” doesn’t mean they are. The only real sin is not trusting in God. If you are stepping out in faith and striving to overcome whatever is keeping you from reaching your potential in Christ, then because of you repentant heart God doesn’t see your sins because it’s under the blood. Proverbs 16:3 says that if you commit your way to the Lord your plans will succeed. That doesn’t mean you can do anything you want but it does mean you have the freedom to pursue whatever desires God has placed on your heart as long as you seek first the Kingdom of God and live your life out of your relationship with Him. Some people assume you’re not right because you aren’t changing fast enough for them. The most dangerous sin is that of spiritual pride because it can be a subtle form of self-righteousness when you start seeing yourself as being so good you end up blaming others and nothing is ever your fault. We are all equal before God. What if you made it to heaven and Hitler was the first person you saw? He could have gotten right before he killed himself. They would have executed him anyway so you can’t presuppose someone’s in hell. It’s human nature to judge subconsciously without realizing it. Anxiety disorders and Paranoid Delusions are often the result of feeling judged by people. The less judgemental one becomes the more compassionate towards people who need the love of God you become. This love for God and others that is Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit working through you what fulfills the Law of God.  Remember we are all a work in progress. None of us are good entirely on our own. It’s the longing of the return of the Messiah the love of things of the living God that makes us pure (I John 3:3). Progress Not Perfection!!!

Mind Control is everywhere

Starting with college recruiters telling you that you owe it to yourself to finish college, thereby convincing you to take out student loans and creating a demand for public education which in turn causes a rise in tuition expenses which also increases the national deficit with public funding for education.
Religious institutions which try to basically tell you how to live your life so you won’t “embarrass” their assembly and they have to excommunicate you. They also try to teach you they have the truth no one else has and many protestant denominations got their start by taking one or more verses out of context.
The Health system which gets paid off by pharmaceutical companies to prescribe “lifelong medications” and even pinpoint a psychological diagnosis above all other possibilities.
The news is the worst with most of their stories being in a negative context to stir up fear and anxiety in the hearts of its viewers. Fear becomes anger turned inward which leads to depression and eventually psychosis then the healthcare system gets ahold of you and won’t let go.
Businesses extending “credit” by getting you to go into debt on that new car or expensive house. Actual commercials for psychotropic drugs with more and more of them being geared toward toxic antipsychotics.
For that matter, I’m even guilty of mind control just for communicating if you take everything I say as Gospel Truth. Friends, there is only one source of Truth and that is the One who Created you and gave Himself for you. He is the source of all wisdom and gives liberally to those who Ask, Seek, and Knock and dont’ doubt it when He gives it to them as long as you seek with the right motives of knowing God and loving and serving Him deeper. All He wants is a relationship and through trusting in our Heavenly Father we won’t fall into sins that separate us by hardening our hearts agaisnt Him and others.
“Receiving Christ into your hearts” because the church convinced you you had to is a form of mind control. Salvation comes as a result of divine conviction when one turns to God as his Source of everything and the Holy Spirit points toward the Blood & Cross as the sacrifice for sins and proof of God’s love. When you realize how much your Father loves you and who you are in Him rather than who you are in the world you began a deeper relationship with Him that transforms you supernaturally from the inside out-which religious rules & rituals and holy living in and of itself can never do.
Knowledge is power, power can be corrupt unless it’s backed by wisdom that comes from a relationship with God and impacts your life for the good of the Kingdom.

Society and its Expectations

The reason we’re all so crazy and stressed out these days is because we aren’t balanced. We push ourselves too hard to live up to a standard of perfection set by societal standards which says if we don’t go to college we’re a loser. If we don’t have a career or a mate by the time we are 30 we’re a loser. If we have life controlling issues we are losers. There’s nothing wrong with having big goals of wanting those things because nothing is impossible with God but it must flow out of a relationship with Him in order to have peace and fulfillment. He’s our ultimate boss and counselor so we get our “increase” or “promotion” in His timing and in His way. All we have to do is trust Him for it and seek first His Kingdom. If any of the other areas competes with Him then its an idol. When did stuff become so important? Couples base their success on having two lucrative careers and a big house then when one gets laid off and can’t afford it the finances crumble, then the marriage, then they have more problems with legal issues. If you get stressed out and have a breakdown you are considered weak and then there’s no help for them because all mental hospitals care about is getting their insurance money and they dope you up until you can find some other way to deal with the pain of your emotions. Those that don’t go to the hospital turn to alcohol and drugs to self-medicate, or to stealing to support themselves and end up in jail or prison. Once you have a mental diagnosis or a record you’re pretty much out of luck because you can’t live up to societal expectations. If you’re wise enough to beat the stress by living simple in the country then you’re labeled “white trash.” I’d rather be a redneck and have less stress than be overworked and chronically stressed out all the time. Stress causes illnesses (mental and physical) which increases the demand for healthcare. More healthcare funding for people who can’t afford it puts a burden on the Economy.
Be blessed not stressed,
Bro. E

Charismatic Renewal/Divine Healing

While I don’t necessarily agree with many of these “deliverance ministries”, I have always believed in divine healing as opposed to “lifelong medications” which have an increased risk of being just another form of chemical dependency. My heart goes out to those that struggle with mental illness. Many of them will have to be on medicines the rest of their life. From what I have studied about the cause of mental illness it is usually triggered by the inability to control your emotions and usually flows from repressed emotions and deep trauma. From talking to people with mental illness many have such deep trauma they will possibly never overcome their depression due to the hardness of their heart because of what happened to them. I don’t think God will send them to hell because of their lack of faith in my opinion. My counselor even mentioned that that may be why He allows them to be afflicted with major mental illnesses so He won’t have to hold them accountable. In other words, the only other way apart from faith in Christ as the Messiah to enter heaven is to be under the age of accountability or be so severely mentally afflicted that you can’t control yourself or thank straight. I’m thankful for the grace of God for delivering me from my depression years but I have deep compassion on those that may never be set free because of the deep emotional pain in their lives-almost enough to cry over which I hardly ever do. Without the grace of God there is no hope at all for any sort of deliverance. Jesus is known to be the Mighty Counselor and when I hear charismatic churches focus on how He laid hands on sinners and healed them, I think that’s just christians thinking in the natural again. Jesus Christ did more than just lay hands on them. He knew what was in them, what their underlying spiritual issue was, and He connected with them. They in turn gave themselves to Him completely and understood who they were in Him and that is the key to divine healing and living the abundant life He calls us to live out in Him. It all goes in accordance with how much you seek after Him and how much of Him you want in your life and what you’re willing to give up to pursue it. But for some the emotional pain may be too deep to let go of and I doubt God will send them to hell because it wasn’t anything they did it was stuff that happened to them in childhood-our impressionable years where we trace everything back to God. Our view of God comes from our upbringing. No issue has to be life-controlling if you receive the grace to let go of it and give it to God. The Truth shall set you free! The more you seek God, the more you know Him, give yourself to Him, and learn more about yourself. Us charismatics are misunderstood but I think many don’t seek God because they misunderstand His purposes. You can’t hate Him if you don’t know Him and once you get to know Him through seeking Him through His Word you can’t help but love Him. The more in love with Him the more set free you are and the more you can in turn love others and fulfill the law through Christ the Messiah and His sacrifice.

Lies from the Health System

Enter at your own risk. . . I’m on a bandwagon lately. I don’t hate the world, even God loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son. I hate the system that is in control of it and seeks to do whatever it takes to keep people from reaching their full potential in Christ. Stick around if you’re curious but if you’re tired of hearing this, by all means leave. This is a blog, or online journal, and I put my thoughts out and if anybody feels enlightened by it then that’s a blessing in disguise.
What is a chemical imbalance? Who came up with that godawful theory? Who named these diseases? The only mental illness mentioned in the bible is depression/anxiety but I’ve heard some go as far to say that King David was Bipolar. Did I miss that verse?
The Truth shall set you free. The truth hurts if you are not humble enough to receive it. To find truth you have to seek it out and you have to want it at all costs. The truth is we are fallen creatures in every area of our lives and we are totally dependent on our Creator for abundant life and all He provides (spiritually bankrupt, depraved-helpless).
Many people suffer form Mood & personality Disorders. The Mood Disorders are only Major Depression, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. If you go to a mental health professional or a psych hospital you will only be diagnosed with one of these because they “require” medicines (a way to feed the corrupt big business pharmaceutical empires I’m sure). Even if you only have mild depression, if you mention the buzz words “depression” and “suicidal thoughts”, you will be diagnosed with MDD. If you have psychosis or paranoid delusions you will be diagnosed with Bipolar Mania and put on at least 2-3 psychotropic drugs ranging from SSRI’s, SNRI’s, and antipsychotics & mood stabilizers which are by far the worst you can take. There are dozens of these drugs so how to they pick one, and if one doesn’t work then the only thing the @#$%^&*! system knows how to do is “try different combinations which could take years off your life and an indefinite period of time in a State Hospital when all you need a strong faith in God (which doesn’t come naturally but supernaturally by God’s Grace to those that seek it) and a good counselor who can find underlying issues and repressed emotions (since mental illness is usually considered emotional distress and typically is verified by out of control emotions). Repressed emotions, such as anger being # 1, can lead to depression & psychosis and you can’t just say it’s just a “chemical imbalance”. Take a pill and your life will get better. I have not seen anybody on psych drugs who lives a normal life unless they have a strong walk with God.
When it comes to personality disorders, which include Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Complusive Disorder, and Autism & Aspberger’s; these are usually diagnosed unofficially by therapists or in childhood and are usually the result of being improperly socialized growing up or going through extreme trauma and can take years to set be set free-if ever. The system’s only solution is to take your medicine and when that doesn’t work then there’s no hope for you. This is because Satan is in charge of the world and his aim is to keep people from God at all costs.
The only real way to be set free is to be tired of being miserable and suffering and used by the mental health system and forced to take drugs that you give up and give yourself completely to God. The only counselor you really need. I actually experienced this over the summer and I got off of antipsychotics although I was still on SSRI’s because I was convinced I was depressed until I realized I only get depressed about one day or so when I get stressed out and it goes away on it’s own. However when I quit cold turkey I went nuts. When I finally learned how to properly weaned off over Thanksgiving I fully recovered and have had no major episodes since-despite the stress I’m under. You’re supposed to have doctor wean you off but they are so blind by the system they will have the police escort you to a hospital if you try this because they think everything is a psychiatric diagnosis.

Life, Liberty, & the pursuit of Happiness

Happiness? What is it? It’s so alluring and so far away to most people. We all have our desires as to what it would take to fulfill us but we go about it the wrong way in trying to reach them. We were created for a purpose and we try to find our purpose in our work or our relationships. Then when we come up empty we become addicted to our idols and end up self-medicating by trying to fill the void and stifle the call of God on our lives. God gave us an independent nature so we’d come to Him on our own, However we can’t come to Him on our own unless He draws us because we are so enslaved to our passions. Until you have a proper understanding of who God is you remain in bondage to your idol, which could be your religion and church involvement. If you don’t seek God for yourself you will become brainwashed by society’s views, even from your own church. However God won’t reveal anything that goes against His Word or denies His Son becvause they are essentially the same person in Spirit. We were created to find fulfillment in all these things because my two life verses (Psalm 84:11 & Psalm 37:4) say that if we delight ourselves in Him He will give us the desires of our heart and that He won’t withhold any good from those that walk uprightly. We can only find fulfillment by offering ourselves as a living sacrifice in response to His sacrifice for us. That’s what marriage is. Sacrifice for the one you love. He may make you give up some desires but most are the ones He gave you before you even knew Him and tried to go after in the flesh. Ultimate fulfillment flows from a personal relationship with Him and when you “awaken yourself to consciousness”, as New Ager Eckhard Tolle puts it, you surrender yourlife to God and the blood of Jesus washes over all yur sins. Only God can awaken your consciousness through being born anew-the ability to see God at work in your life and consequetly Satan too.

Repression Leads To Depression

I have learned over the last few years, from non christians ironically, that living the christian life almost seems like we’re repressing our desires. That’s not true freedom that Christ calls us to live by. We are called to deny our flesh but we can’t repress our sins. Then we wind up just “accepting” it which is not faith. Faith is believing we are more than conquerors and we can be set free from our struggle by the power of the blood of Jesus and the supernatural grace of God. Just “accepting” Jesus is a OSAS view that leads to a complacent, license to sin worldview that hinders the mission of the church. No wonder those that hold to this view seem less joy filled and depressed with anger issues. To be set free you have to agree with God, or confess, and before you do that you have to come to repentance, meaning you are sincerely sorry for offending God alone and are willing to give it completely to Him by laying it down at the Cross where His Son died for that sin. Then walk away with one less burden. Being delivered can be instant or it can take years of spiritual growth, counseling, and medication. It all depends on the receptivity of the human heart and how deeply engrained you are to the sin. Homosexuality is one example. I know any glbt’s who read this are not going to get to this part unless God speaks directly to you-homosexuality IS NOT DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER SIN. So I don’t know why the church condemns gays & lesbians but not people who steal and all that. Choosing to live celibate is as bad as coming out of the closet. That goes for people who are discontented with their singlensss. Believing some desires are merely human and will go unfulfilled produces a spirit of depression. Seek God, give yourself to Him, and pursue whatever desires He puts on your heart. Pray for the daily Baptism of the Holy Spirit and let go of all that is holding you back. Accept who you are in Christ, that includes being more than a conqueror thru Him who loved you, and live out His power in your life by not focusing on your limitations. Your limitations keep you dependent on God but shouldn’t keep you from reaching your full potential in Christ, thereby living at a level of mediocrit

Seeing the Great Physician and taking your Spiritual Medicine

Matt. 4:4 says “Man shall not live on bread alone but every Word that comes from the mouth of God.” All we need to get thru life is the Bread of Life and His living water that wells up to everlasting life. That is our basic need and all God promised us. Psalm 84:11 teaches us that God will not withhold anything good from those that walk uprightly, and Jesus said no one is good but God. So God will not withhold Himself from those that diligently seek Him; That is all He requires of us and that in and of itself is a divine work of the Holy Spirit-our part is to respond in faith and trust in Him and He in turn impart His righteouseness and cleanses us of our sins by the power of the Blood of His Son. Psalm 37:4, my favorite verse, says if you delight yourself in Him, He will give you the desires of your heart, and Ecclesiastes 3:11 says He has put eternity in the hearts of men; So our true desires are for divine intimacy, however because of our sin nature we seek the god we want rather than the God who is and end up making up a god in our mind to justify our sins. The end result is we get a seared conscious and become spiritually blind to our sins. Popular teaching in America is the charismatic prosperity gospel that you have a right to God’s favor and to be healed. Even though it’s God’s will for healing, He does allow afflictions to teach us more about Him. Many godly people have been dealt with huge blows and illnesses and even died young as a result of them, so what? Were they lacking faith? Robert Murray McCheyenne, Steve Hill in Irving. I don’t think so. Some illnesses are the result of sin you did or were done to you and you may have to take medicine for it but if you give it to God He will empower you to deal with it and you won’t even feel burdened. Many of Jesus’s teachings were hard and that is the reason why many deserted Him (John 6:66 is you happen to catch those numbers; I doubt that’s a coincidence). The christian life is impossible to live but take hold-all things are possible with God at the center of your life if you are born of His Spirit by receiving His Divine Son. If you cast your cares upon Him life won’t be a burden regardless of what kind of trial you are going through. A friend of mine once told me that life gets harder as you get older, but this isn’t necessarily true. It’s not hard for God because He can handle anything, and the more faith you have in Him the easier it gets to deal with. You already have all the faith you need when you come into Christ and trust in your Heavenly Father but you have to work it out daily (Phil. 2:12). In one sense you are whole and complete but in the other you become more whole & complete every day. Some believers/worshippers get so focused on their faith in God they see themselves as whole & complete and end up becoming a form of self-righteousness because they don’t see their need to persevere in faith and spiritual growth. Just cause you are saved doesn’t mean you are not still enslaved to your sins, but you have the resources available to be more than conquerors. You have limitations in this life that keep you dependent on God, called your thorn in the flesh, but in Christ you have no limitations; I believe the Supertones have a song about that. Despite the popular charismatic teaching that makes God sound like a Divine sears catalogue, God doesn’t owe you anything, not even the salvation of your soul. You can’t properly fear & worship Him if you have bad theology that teaches otherwise. With that in mind you can better appreciate what you have in life recognizing it as a gift even if you don’t have anything but God you are still rich beyond your wildest dreams. America has gone too far with their freedoms that we have become the church of Laodecia (see Revelations 3). Repent and realize who you are in Christ like I did a few months ago and don’t try to find your identity in the world controlled by Satan. God doesn’t owe you anything but may give you your hearts desire if you are fully surrendered to Him and His will becomes yours. He still loves you and wants what’s best for you. If you doubt that, look to the Cross of Jesus.
Go rise above your circumstances,
E

Don’t Let the News Get You Down

Amazing how negative the news is. They always zero in on the worst figures. For instance, I heard the unemployment rate was 8%-which means the employment rate is 92%. You’d think anyway. The 8% just factors in people who are registered at workforce centers not the ones who have given up and are living on the streets. It also may not factor in those that bust their keysters doing odd jobs or are running their own businesses of some sort which makes up for the ones who have given up. So it balances out that more than half, up to 3/4 of the population are employed in some form, or they receive a pension check form Social Security, Corporate America, or the military. The same article said that almost 7% of America is living in poverty-again, 93% isn’t, and some of that 7% may be living in poverty by choice because they aren’t interested in “playing the game” or being caught up in the rat race so they choose to live simple. Also after visiting a homeless shelter for a day I heard that at the first of the month, when the Social Security checks come in, the shelters clear out. My guess would be most people get their retirement checks, poop it off by staying in a motel and live life till their money runs out, then towards the end of the month when the money runs out they check back into a shelter. Conclusion: Homeless Shelters may be full but only a small percentage are actually fallen on hard times-the rest just don’t want to better themselves so they live off social services. Christians aren’t any better-talking about they’re only “ambitious for the Lord”. This is just an excuse to not work very hard or have any ambition towards anything in life. Speaking of chrisitans, many churches talk about how only 20% of the world is actually right with God, or true worshippers. Now how would they know this? Can you see inside someone’s heart? Did you become God all of a sudden? Although many try to be! Unless someone outright denies God, or Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, only God knows if they are truly worshipping Him or not. Plus you have to take into account all those that are below the age of accountability either by being very young or mentally handicapped (retarded). Also just because someone hasn’t heard the Gospel doesn’t necessarily consign them to hell because it’s according to their reception of however much light they have received from God. To sum it up, at least half the world could be properly worshipping God to the best of their ability. Just because they are “living in sin” doesn’t mean they aren’t right. The difference is whether they are delighting in it or struggling with it which shows whether they have God’s presence in their hearts or not. The main religions of the world are Catholics & Christians; Which are only off by a few points, usually the dividing line between faith & works which are interrelated anyway. Judaism, which is God’s chosen race. Only God knows who the true Jews are. When God reveals Himself to the Jews in the End Times and a large majority of professing Catholics & Christians get right with the Lord by trusting in Him and receive His precious Baptism of the Holy Spirit, we may see a revival we’ve never seen before. Over 75% of the world coming to know God, Satan being bound up in the process, and our Lord Jesus Christ the Promised Messiah ushering in His Kingdom and restoring Israel and the promise of the New Heaven New Earth in Rev. 21. Christians talk about “waiting for the Lord” but don’t realize He may very well be waiting for us to do His work and that’s why it’ taking so long for Him to come back. Of course a day with the Lord is as 1000 years so His crucifixion was just a couple days ago. I remember it like it was yesterday.
